Job Summary
- To ensure the food factory operates in full compliance with local, national, and international food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
- The officer safeguards product integrity, consumer safety, and the company’s reputation by monitoring, auditing, and enforcing compliance practices.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance:
- Monitor and interpret food safety laws, regulations, and standards (e.gHACCP, ISO 22000, NAFDAC).
- Ensure factory operations comply with government regulations and certification requirements.
- Prepare and submit regulatory documentation, permitsand licenses.
Policy Development:
- Develop, implement, and update compliance policies and procedures.
- Train staff on regulatory requirements, hygiene practices and compliance protocols.
Auditing & Monitoring:
- Conduct internal audits and inspections of production processes, storageand distribution.
- Identify non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Liaise with external auditors and regulatory agencies during inspections.
- Risk Management
- Assess risks related to food safety, labeling, packaging, and distribution.
- Investigate compliance breaches and implement preventive measures.
- Documentation & Reporting
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with production, quality assurance, procurementand logistics teams.
- Ensure suppliers and contractors meet compliance standards.
- Maintain accurate compliance records, audit reports, and regulatory submissions.
- Report compliance status to management and recommend improvements.

Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or related field.
- Professional certifications in food safety/regulatory compliance (e.gHACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC).
- 3 - 5 years of experience in food manufacturing compliance or regulatory affairs.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned area.
