Job Title: Managing Director

Job Summary

  • The Managing Director will provide overall strategic, commercial, operational, and regulatory leadership for the institution.
  • The role is responsible for driving growth, profitability, governance excellence, financial inclusion, digital transformation, and long-term institutional value creation.
  • The successful candidate will lead the building and scaling of the institution into a leading microfinance bank in Cameroon.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the institution’s strategic plan in line with Board direction and Group objectives.
  • Drive sustainable growth, profitability, market expansion, and financial inclusion.
  • Identify emerging opportunities and strengthen the institution’s competitiveness in the Cameroonian and CEMAC markets.
  • Hold full P&L responsibility for the institution.
  • Deliver agreed financial, operational, and social performance targets.
  • Drive deposit mobilization, portfolio growth, revenue generation, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the successful establishment and scaling of the institution.
  • Oversee operational readiness, systems implementation, and organizational capability development.
  • Drive innovation and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Establish robust governance, enterprise risk management, and internal control frameworks.
  • Safeguard the institution’s assets, reputation, and regulatory standing
  • Promote a strong culture of ethics, compliance, and accountability.
  • Maintain strong relationships with COBAC, BEAC, government authorities, investors, and strategic partners.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and prudential guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Master’s degree or MBA strongly preferred.
  • 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in banking, financial services, or microfinance
  • At least 5 years in executive leadership, specifically within a Microfinance Bank.
  • Demonstrated experience leading institution-building, transformation, or growth initiatives.
