Advocacy for Resilience and Innovative Solutions for Youths, Women, and Children Empowerment (ARISE) is a women led humanitarian and development non-profit organization formally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) on October 1, 2024. The organization is dedicated to empowering youth, women, and children, with a strong commitment to amplifying their voices, ensuring protection, and supporting marginalized, distressed, and displaced populations to build resilient and self-sufficient futures.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Graphic Designer, Media and Communications Volunteer

Location: Maiduguri, Borno
Employment Type: Volunteer

Overall purpose of the Role

  • The Graphic Designer, Media and Communications is responsible for developing high-quality visual and digital communication materials that promote the organization's mission, programs, and impact.
  • The role supports branding, public engagement, and visibility by creating compelling graphic designs, managing multimedia content, and contributing to internal and external communication initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies across LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and emerging digital platforms.
  • Create engaging, high-quality content, including graphics, videos, blog articles, newsletters, and campaigns that effectively communicate our brand value and impact.
  • Plan, implement, and manage integrated digital marketing campaigns to promote our products, services, and Organisation programs.
  • Build and nurture vibrant online communities while engaging authentically with followers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Lead promotional efforts for the Organisation’s digital upskilling programs, showcasing transformative success stories, participant testimonials, and measurable social impact.
  • Track, monitor, and analyse social media metrics using industry-standard analytics tools, providing regular performance reports with actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure brand consistency, messaging alignment, and visual identity across all digital communication channels while collaborating with internal teams to achieve organisational goals.

Qualification and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree Communications, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Visual art, Public Relations, Journalism or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in social media management, digital communications, or content marketing.
  • Proficiency with social media management and scheduling tools (Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite) and analytics platforms (Google Analytics, platform insights).
  • Exceptional copywriting, storytelling, and creative content development skills with the ability to craft messages for diverse audiences.
  • Experience with graphic design tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma) and video editing software is a strong advantage.
  • Portfolio showcasing successful digital campaigns, diverse content samples, analytics reports, and measurable results.
