Role Description

  • This is a full-time, on-site Medical Officer role based in Ilesa, Osun State.
  • The Medical Officer will provide comprehensive clinical care, including patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up for primary and secondary healthcare conditions.
  • Daily responsibilities include conducting consultations, ordering and interpreting investigations, prescribing medications, and maintaining accurate medical records.
  • The role may involve assisting with surgical procedures, managing emergency cases, and coordinating care with other physicians and healthcare professionals.
  • The Medical Officer will also participate in patient education, clinical audits, and training activities to support continuous improvement in care quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Medicine and clinical decision-making, with the ability to manage a range of primary and secondary healthcare conditions.
  • Demonstrated Patient Care skills, including compassionate bedside manner, effective communication, and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Experience in Surgery or basic surgical procedures, including preoperative and postoperative patient management, is an added advantage.
  • Ability to provide Training to junior staff or students, and willingness to participate in continuous professional development activities.
  • Proven experience Working with Physicians and other healthcare team members in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Recognized medical degree and full registration with relevant medical regulatory bodies.
  • Previous clinical experience in a hospital or primary care setting; experience in community-based healthcare is beneficial.
  • Strong ethical standards, resilience in a busy clinical environment, and readiness to work shifts, weekends, or on-call as required.
