Job Title: Group Head, Human Resources

Role Description

• The Group Head, Human Resources is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Abuja, responsible for overseeing and driving the bank’s HR strategy across all locations.
• This role manages the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures, and frameworks that support organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include leading talent acquisition and workforce planning, overseeing performance management and employee development, and ensuring effective employee relations and engagement initiatives.
• The Group Head Human Resources will guide compensation and benefits structures, support leadership with strategic HR advisory, and ensure compliance with labor and employment laws.
• The role collaborates closely with executive management to build a high-performing, inclusive culture that supports sustainable growth in the mortgage banking sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field; a relevant master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM) is an advantage.
• Strong foundation in Human Resources (HR) and HR Management, with experience leading HR teams in a financial services or banking environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in Labor and Employment Law and HR Policies, ensuring regulatory compliance and effective governance.
• Proven capability in Employee Relations, including managing conflict resolution, engagement initiatives, and fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
• Experience in talent acquisition, performance management, and learning and development to support organizational growth.
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior management decisions.
• Strong analytical and strategic planning abilities, including use of HR metrics and data for decision-making.
• Proven experience in a senior HR leadership role, preferably within the banking or financial services sector in Nigeria.
