Role Description

• The Medical Officer role at Genesis Specialist Hospital is a full-time, on-site position based in Ikeja.
• The Medical Officer will provide direct patient care, including clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up in collaboration with consultants and specialist surgeons.
• Daily responsibilities include reviewing patient histories, ordering and interpreting investigations, preparing patients for surgery, and participating in ward rounds and case reviews.
• The role involves coordinating with physicians and nursing teams, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, maintaining accurate medical records, and supporting continuous quality improvement in patient care.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent), full registration with relevant medical council, and valid practicing license.
• Previous experience in a critical care, surgical, or acute hospital setting is highly beneficial.
• Strong foundation in Medicine and clinical decision-making, with the ability to manage a range of acute and chronic conditions.
• Demonstrated Patient Care skills, including compassionate communication, thorough clinical assessment, and safe management of treatment plans.
• Experience with Surgery support, including pre-operative and post-operative care, and collaboration with surgical teams.
• Ability to work effectively with Physicians and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure consistent standards.
• Experience in Training, mentoring, or educating junior medical staff or other healthcare professionals is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to patient safety and ethical medical practice.
