Job Description
- We’re looking for an experienced Mining Financial Analyst with a strong background in the mining industry to drive financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct financial analysis to support business planning and strategic decision-making.
- Develop financial models, budgets, forecasts, and long-term business projections.
- Analyze operational and financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and management reports.
- Monitor project profitability, production costs, and operational expenditures.
- Perform variance analysis and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Support investment appraisals, feasibility studies, and capital expenditure analysis.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, Nigerian accounting standards, and relevant mining regulations.
- Assist in financial audits and liaise with external auditors when required.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Develop and improve financial reporting processes using ERP systems.
- Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance indicators.
- Collaborate with operational, commercial, and executive teams to provide financial insights for business growth.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and operational efficiency.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for financial risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN or ACCA (mandatory).
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in accounting or financial analysis within the mining industry.
- Strong knowledge of mining accounting practices and cost accounting.
- Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and business projections.
- Strong understanding of IFRS and Nigerian financial reporting standards.
- Knowledge of local and international mining regulations and financial compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience using ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or similar).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data and present meaningful insights.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple priorities.
Requirements
