We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: DCS Panel Operator (Ammonia Plant)

Location: Lagos

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced DCS Panel Operatorto operate and monitor Distributed Control Systems (DCS) within a world-class ammonia production facility.
  • The successful candidate will ensure safe, efficient, and continuous plant operation while maintaining strict compliance with HSE and operational standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control ammonia plant operations from the DCS panel to ensure safe, stable, and efficient plant performance.
  • Maintain critical process parameters such as pressure, temperature, flow, levels, and composition within operating targets.
  • Acknowledge, analyze, and respond promptly to system alarms, trips, and abnormal operating conditions.
  • Coordinate with field operators during plant start-up, shutdown, process adjustments, and emergency situations.
  • Record operational readings, process trends, and deviations in shift logbooks and operational reports.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, process deviations, trips, and abnormal conditions to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Perform remote monitoring and control of pumps, compressors, valves, reactors, heat exchangers, and other process equipment through the DCS system.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operating manuals, and emergency response procedures.
  • Support plant optimization by maintaining stable process conditions and achieving production targets.
  • Participate in control system checks, loop testing, DCS troubleshooting, and coordination of instrumentation maintenance activities.
  • Maintain effective communication with field operators, maintenance teams, and other plant personnel to ensure safe and reliable operations.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experiencein an ammonia plant.
  • Hands-on experience with Honeywell, ABB, Yokogawa, or Emerson DCS.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Remuneration
