Nigerian Police Force - Three applicants seeking to be enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force have gotten themselves into serious trouble for committing an offence deemed too bad.

The three applicants have been arrested by the Ebonyi State Police Command yesterday.

Their offence is that they alleged falsified their ages in the ongoing nationwide police recruitment screening exercise.

According to Leadership, the state police public relations officer, DSP George Okafor disclosed this yesterday in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.

The PPRO, who refused to disclose the names of the suspects, said they would soon be charged to court to serve as a deterrent to others, adding that the exercise was transparent and called on those who are yet to report to the screening venue to do so.

"There are various techniques and procedures outlined this purpose and they must be strictly adhered to shortlist candidates.

"We screened the candidates properly and discovered that some of them forged some of their credentials and we are not going to leave them.

"If you know you have false declarations don’t near this screening place because if we catch you, we will charge you," he said.

Okafor advised the public to continue to provide useful information to the police for efficient service delivery.
