We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Hostel Parent

Location: Ogun

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, secure, and supportive living environment for boarding students.
  • Supervise students in the hostel and ensure compliance with school rules, routines, and boarding regulations.
  • Monitor students' welfare, behaviour, hygiene, health, and emotional well-being, reporting concerns promptly.
  • Maintain discipline while fostering a caring, respectful, and inclusive hostel community.
  • Ensure students adhere to daily schedules, including wake-up times, meals, study periods, lights-out, and other boarding routines.
  • Work closely with the School Nurse, Counsellor, Teachers, and other staff to support students' academic, social, and personal development.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and ensure students' safety at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, visitors, and student welfare matters.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure hostel rooms and facilities are clean, organised, and well maintained.
  • Ensure all safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies are strictly followed.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience.
  • Strong understanding of child safeguarding, student welfare, and adolescent development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills..
  • Proficient in the use of basic computer applications.
  • Patient, approachable, compassionate, and emotionally resilient.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to students' welfare.
  • First Aid certification is an added advantage.
