We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Pharmacist

Location: Benin City, Edo 

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a qualified and patient-focused Pharmacist to join our healthcare team.
  • The successful candidate will ensure the safe and effective dispensing of medications, provide pharmaceutical care, and support optimal patient outcomes while complying with all regulatory and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
  • Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions.
  • Counsel patients on the proper use, dosage, storage, and side effects of medications.
  • Monitor medication therapy and provide pharmaceutical recommendations to healthcare providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all pharmacy regulations, policies, and ethical standards.
  • Maintain accurate medication records and documentation.
  • Manage inventory, including stock control, expiry monitoring, and procurement.
  • Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and infection prevention initiatives.
  • Supervise pharmacy interns, technicians, or support staff where applicable.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver quality patient care.

Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from a recognized institution.

Experience:

  • 1–3 years post-qualification experience in a hospital or community pharmacy is preferred.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) or pharmacy information systems is an added advantage.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacology and medication management.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer service and patient counselling skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management systems.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Other Requirements:

  • Current license to practice issued by the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
  • Valid annual practicing licence.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety and quality healthcare.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays where required.
  • Must possess excellent ethical and professional conduct.
