Job Title: Sustainability Manager (ESG)

About the Role

• We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sustainability Manager (ESG) to lead our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainability strategies that align with the company's business objectives, regulatory requirements, and global best practices while driving measurable environmental and social impact across our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the company's ESG and sustainability strategy.
• Lead the preparation of ESG, sustainability, and annual impact reports.
• Ensure compliance with local environmental regulations and international ESG frameworks.
• Monitor and report on sustainability KPIs, including carbon emissions, energy consumption, water usage, and waste management.
• Drive initiatives to improve resource efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and support circular economy practices.
• Conduct ESG risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with operations, HSE, HR, procurement, finance, and other departments to embed sustainability into business processes.
• Manage sustainability projects and oversee implementation from planning through execution.
• Engage with regulatory bodies, customers, investors, auditors, and other stakeholders on ESG matters.
• Develop employee awareness and training programs on sustainability and ESG principles.
• Benchmark the company's ESG performance against industry standards and recommend continuous improvements.
• Support certification and compliance initiatives, including ISO 14001 and other relevant environmental management systems.

Requirements

• 5–8 years' experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental management, or HSE within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of ESG reporting standards and sustainability frameworks.
• Experience with carbon accounting, environmental impact assessments, and sustainability reporting.
• Excellent understanding of Nigerian environmental regulations and international sustainability standards.
• Strong analytical, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and report-writing abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
