Job Title: Material Preservation Coordinator

Locations: Abuja (FCT), Port Harcourt - Rivers, and Warri - Delta
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking to employ competent Material Preservation Coordinators to support the preservation and integrity management of materials, equipment, and spare parts across its operational facilities.
  • The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and implementing preservation programs that ensure materials remain in optimal condition throughout storage, transportation, and installation.
  • Candidates should possess practical experience in preservation planning, maintenance coordination, warehouse preservation programs, materials integrity management, SAP-based preservation tracking, and compliance with oil and gas industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and monitor material preservation plans for equipment, spare parts, piping, structural materials, valves, instruments, and mechanical components.
  • Coordinate preservation activities for materials stored in warehouses, laydown yards, fabrication facilities, and offshore/onshore operational sites.
  • Schedule and coordinate routine preservation inspections and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Ensure materials are stored, handled, and preserved in accordance with OEM recommendations, company procedures, and international industry standards.
  • Monitor environmental storage conditions, including temperature, humidity, contamination, and corrosion risks.
  • Maintain accurate preservation records using SAP (PM/MM) or other ERP systems.
  • Track preservation schedules, maintenance activities, and inspection history through SAP-based preservation management systems.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, logistics, engineering, construction, and maintenance teams to ensure materials remain fit for operational use.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify deterioration, corrosion, moisture ingress, damage, or other preservation issues.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions to maintain the integrity and serviceability of stored materials.
  • Ensure compliance with quality assurance, HSE policies, and company asset integrity requirements.
  • Prepare preservation reports, inspection records, maintenance logs, and management updates.
  • Support internal audits, client inspections, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Participate in commissioning and project handover activities by ensuring preserved materials are ready for installation and operational use.
  • Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse preservation practices and materials reliability.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
  • Must have 3–5 years' experience in material preservation, warehouse operations, maintenance coordination, asset integrity, or materials management within the oil and gas industry.
  • Practical experience developing and implementing warehouse preservation programs.
  • Strong knowledge of corrosion prevention, preservation techniques, and materials integrity management.
  • Experience using SAP PM/MM or other ERP systems for preservation planning, maintenance coordination, and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with OEM preservation requirements and international industry standards.
  • Good understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary operational teams.
  • Strong commitment to Health, Safety, Security, Environment (HSSE), and quality compliance.

Preferred Certifications:

  • HSE Level 1, 2, or 3
  • SAP PM/MM User Certification
  • NACE Corrosion Technician or Coating Inspector Certification (Advantage)
  • API Asset Integrity or Materials Management Certification (Advantage)
  • Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) Certification
  • First Aid and Fire Safety Certification
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification (Advantage)
