Job Title: HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) Officer

Location: Ota, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • A Manufacturing Company in Ota, Ogun state is looking for a HSE Officer who will ensure HSE compliance, conducts safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Develops safety procedures, training programs, and maintains all safety records, permits, and certifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with HSE policies and local regulations
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Develop and implement safety procedures and training programs
  • Investigate incidents/accidents and prepare reports
  • Good knowledge of housekeeping and Effluent management
  • Maintain safety records, permit, and audit documentation
  • Promote a safe working environment and employee awareness
  • Timely Renewal of certificates & permits (whereas required)
  • Coordinate safety training across the factory
  • Coordinate the renewals of safety-related SLAs for the factory before their expiration date.
  • Follow up on the pending unsafe conditions for the Head Office.
  • Ensure quarterly fumigation is conducted for the Head Office at the appropriate date.
  • Create and send out the weekly HSE nuggets for the factory.
  • Coordinate any HSE project event for the factory.

Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Relevant professional certifications or recognized HSE certification will be an added advantage.
  • 3–7 years of relevant experience in a similar multi-functional role
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Good knowledge of labor laws and HSE regulations
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
