Job Title: Assistant Farm Supervisor

Location: Abeokuta, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time (South West Region)

Job Summary

• The Assistant Farm Supervisor supports the Farm Supervisor in coordinating and monitoring daily farm operations across crop production, poultry, fishery, and livestock units.
• The role ensures that assigned tasks are carried out efficiently, farm workers comply with operational procedures, and farm records are maintained accurately to achieve production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Farm Supervisor in planning and supervising daily farm activities.
• Monitor farm workers to ensure assigned duties are completed efficiently and on schedule.
• Assist in crop production activities, including land preparation, planting, irrigation, weeding, fertilizer application, pest and disease control, and harvesting.
• Support poultry operations by supervising feeding, vaccination, medication, egg collection, brooding, cleaning, and biosecurity practices.
• Assist in fish farming activities, including pond preparation, stocking, feeding, water quality monitoring, and harvesting.
• Support livestock management by ensuring proper feeding, watering, housing, breeding, and general animal welfare.
• Conduct routine inspections of crops, poultry, fish ponds, livestock, and farm facilities, and promptly report any abnormalities to the Farm Supervisor.
• Ensure farm equipment, tools, and machinery are used properly and kept clean after use.
• Monitor the availability and proper usage of farm inputs such as feeds, fertilizers, chemicals, seeds, and veterinary supplies.
• Maintain accurate daily records of farm activities, production, inventory, attendance, and equipment usage.
• Ensure workers comply with health, safety, environmental, and biosecurity policies.
• Assist in training and guiding farm workers on good agricultural practices and safe work procedures.
• Stand in for the Farm Supervisor during periods of absence, as directed.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Farm Supervisor or Management.

Qualifications

• National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (Animal Science, Crop Science, Fisheries, Agricultural Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years' practical experience in commercial farming.
• Hands-on experience in one or more of the following: crop farming, poultry production, fish farming, or livestock management.
• Previous experience leading or coordinating farm workers is an added advantage.

Knowledge & Skills:

• Basic knowledge of crop production, poultry, fishery, and livestock management.
• Ability to supervise and coordinate farm workers effectively.
• Good observational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate farm records and reports.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to operate in a physically demanding outdoor environment.
• Basic knowledge of farm equipment and safety procedures.
• High level of integrity, discipline, and attention to detail.

Salary
N150,000 monthly.
