Job Title: Quality Assurance Engineer

Supervises: None, unless assigned as audit team lead
Role Purpose
- Establish, maintain, and independently assess the processes that give confidence project and operational quality requirements will be achieved.
- The role focuses on QMS effectiveness, risk-based assurance, audit, process compliance, corrective action, and continual improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and maintain quality plans, procedures, process maps, audit programmes, assurance checklists, and quality objectives aligned with ISO 9001 and contract requirements.
- Evaluate contractor and vendor quality systems, quality plans, competence arrangements, and proposed controls before mobilisation or award.
- Plan and conduct internal, contractor, vendor, and project audits; issue evidence-based findings and agree corrective-action plans.
- Monitor implementation of procedures across engineering, procurement, construction, inspection, commissioning, and document control processes.
- Facilitate root-cause analysis for significant or recurring non-conformances and verify that corrective and preventive actions are effective.
- Maintain quality risks, objectives, KPIs, audit registers, NCR trends, management-review inputs, and lessons-learned records.
- Review quality-critical deliverables for compliance, traceability, approval status, and controlled distribution.
- Provide quality awareness training and coaching to employees, contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
- Support management reviews and recommend practical process improvements based on audit results, data analysis, and project feedback.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Engineering, Quality Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Typically 7 or more years of QA/QMS experience within oil and gas, EPC, construction, manufacturing, or asset integrity environments.
- Demonstrated experience applying ISO 9001, leading audits, managing corrective actions, and measuring process performance.
- Strong analytical, interviewing, report-writing, facilitation, and stakeholder-influencing skills.
- Ability to remain objective and independent while working collaboratively with delivery teams.
Preferred Certifications and Standards Knowledge:
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification is strongly preferred.
- Awareness of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 integrated management systems is advantageous.
- Quality engineering or professional engineering credentials are desirable.

Reporting and Interfaces:
- Internal interfaces: Project quality, engineering, procurement, construction, HSE, operations, and document control functions.
- External interfaces: Clients, certification bodies, contractors, vendors, third-party auditors, and assurance representatives.
HSE and Quality Commitment:
- Integrate quality assurance with environmental and occupational health and safety controls; escalate systemic weaknesses that could create safety, environmental, or integrity risk.
- The role holder is expected to demonstrate integrity, objective judgement, respect for approved procedures, and a continual-improvement mindset. Responsibilities may be adjusted to suit project scope, risk, location, and contractual requirements.
