Job Title: Site Inspector

Supervises: None
Role Purpose
- Provide continuous field surveillance and inspection of construction activities, verifying that workmanship, materials, tests, and records conform to approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and ITP requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Review the daily work scope, approved drawings, method statements, inspection points, and acceptance criteria before inspection.
- Inspect civil, structural, mechanical, piping, welding, coating, installation, testing, and reinstatement activities within the assigned competence.
- Confirm that only approved materials, qualified personnel, valid procedures, and calibrated tools are used.
- Witness required tests and measurements and verify results against specified tolerances and acceptance criteria.
- Raise clear inspection observations, punch items, and NCR inputs, supported by measurements, photographs, and traceable references.
- Verify corrections and repairs and complete reinspection before work is concealed, released, or progressed.
- Maintain daily inspection reports, inspection-request status, red-line/as-built inputs, and evidence files.
- Coordinate access and inspection timing with construction supervisors, client representatives, and specialist inspectors.
- Escalate deviations, repeated workmanship issues, material damage, or unsafe conditions promptly.

- Planned inspection points attended and recorded
- Inspection reports issued accurately and on time
- Defects detected before concealment or system turnover
- Reinspection and punch closure cycle time
- Compliance with site HSE and permit requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- OND / HND or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering, Construction, Welding, or Materials discipline.
- Typically 5 or more years of site inspection experience on oil and gas, EPC, civil, pipeline, tank, or facility projects.
- Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and basic code acceptance requirements.
- Practical knowledge of inspection tools, calibration status, material traceability, and field reporting.
- Physical capability and willingness to work in active construction areas and variable weather conditions.
Preferred Certifications and Standards Knowledge:
- Relevant discipline certification such as CSWIP, ASNT/ISO 9712 Level II, AMPP/NACE, or civil inspection training is preferred.
- Rope-access certification is advantageous only where the assignment requires it.
- Site HSE induction, permit-to-work, working-at-height, and confined-space awareness as applicable.
