Job Title: Rig Maintenance & Asset Integrity Lead

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Role Overview

  • The Rig Maintenance & Asset Integrity Lead is responsible for ensuring rig readiness, reliability, and compliance through robust maintenance management, certification control, and asset integrity practices.
  • The role owns the readiness assurance process, ensuring acceptance from ME-14 is achieved through evidence-based verification, with all certifications current, preventive maintenance completed, and equipment operating to required standards.
  • The successful candidate will drive the transformation of five aging rigs and associated units into a reliable, audit-ready fleet that meets client expectations, regulatory requirements, and operational performance targets.
  • Through effective maintenance strategies, integrity management, and continuous improvement, the role ensures safe, efficient, and dependable assets ready for deployment.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Delivery Outcomes:

  • De-risk the fleet: independent condition surveys on all 8 units before any acceptance — the Group’s single largest de-risking step.
  • Hold equipment-caused NPT ≤ 3% on active rigs.
  • Keep reactivation scopes honest: evidenced, costed, split correctly between ME-14 capex and ME-08 opex.

Functional / Operational Responsibilities:

  • W5 owner: acceptance surveys and certificates, reactivation scope management, PM system, certification register, critical spares (with ME-10), preservation programs for stacked units.
  • BOP stack certification and test-equipment readiness supporting Policy 2 regimes.
  • Root-cause analysis on failures > 12 hrs NPT; condition feedback to ME-14.
  • Redelivery surveys and dilapidation positions at charter end.

Governance, Controls & Compliance:

  • No operation with lapsed certification — hard stop; no documentation-only acceptances.
  • PM deferrals > 30 days require DW-01 approval with risk assessment.
  • MOC plus ME-14 written consent for any asset modification.

Stakeholder & Leadership Responsibilities:

  • ME-14 Assets (charters, capex, condition); OEMs and certification bodies; class societies and NIMASA for floating units.
  • DW-02 for operations windows; ME-10 for spares and services procurement.

Required Qualifications

  • B.Eng. / HND Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Rig inspection credentials (IADC/OEM programs) preferred; lifting/pressure-systems certification competence.

Experience:

  • 10+ years rig maintenance including chief mechanic/maintenance supervisor time on SCR/VFD land or swamp rigs; reactivation or shipyard project experience strongly preferred.
  • BOP maintenance and certification management experience.
