Job Title: Account & Payable Manager

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • Manager- Accounts and Payables will lead the company’s accounts payable function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all vendor payments in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • This role is responsible for implementing strong financial controls, improving process efficiency, managing vendor relationships, and supporting the company’s broader financial goals.
  • The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in accounts payable operations within the oil and gas or EPC industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, purchase orders, vendor payments, and account reconciliations.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective accounts payable policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with financial, tax, regulatory, and audit requirements.
  • Manage vendor relationships, resolve payment-related issues, oversee vendor onboarding, and negotiate favorable payment and credit terms where appropriate.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen controls, and optimize ERP-based accounts payable workflows.
  • Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, including aging schedules, cash disbursement forecasts, and payment performance metrics, while collaborating with the Treasury team to support effective cash flow management.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the accounts payable team by setting performance targets, monitoring KPIs, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification: ICAN, ACCA, or CPA (required).
  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and payables management, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role.
  • Experience in the oil and gas, EPC, or energy services industry is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations, procurement-to-payment cycles, and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage, etc.).
  • Proficiency in ERP and digital AP tools.

Salary
N500,000 - N800,000 per month.
