Quarantine Assistant at Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service

Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS) is a regulatory agency under the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security with the mandate to prevent the introduction, establishment and spread of exotic pests, diseases and contaminants of plants, animals and aquatic resources and their products, from entry or exit and thereby safeguarding the Nigerian Agricultural economy and facilitating international trade.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons for full time appointment in the capacity below:

Job Title: Quarantine Assistant

Responsibilities

• General duty.

Requirements

• Applicants must be holders of SSCE, NECO, or OCE O/Level with minimum of four (5) credits in not more than two (2) sittings, which should include English and Mathematics.

Statutory Requirements
Applicants must:

• Be Nigerian by birth.
• Have National Identity Number.
• Be medically fit.
• Present certificate of medical fitness from a govemment hospital.
• Be required to pass drug test.
• Be of good character and must not have been convicted of a criminal offence and must not be a member of a secret society/cult.
• Be free from financial embarrassment.
• Have height not less than 155m for females and 1.65m for males.
• candidates.
• Have chest measurement of not less than 0.87m for men.
• Be computer literate.
• Any certificate or qualification not declared and accepted at recruitment centre shall not be accepted after recruitments.

Physical Challenges (Applicants with any of the following need not apply):

• Impediment in speech (stammer/dumb)
• Gross malformation of teeth
• Knock knees
• Bent knees
• Bow legs
• K-legs
• Flat foot
• Limb legs
• Bent arms / deformed hands / fracture
• Defective eye sight (squint-eye, crossed eye, one-eyed, tatal blindness)
• Amputation of any part of physical body
• Hearing impaired (deaf)
• Hunched back
• Obesity
• Medical challenges
• Any physical deformity not mentioned.
