Job Title: Product Monitoring Officer

Location: Lagos 

Job Summary

  • The Product Monitoring Officer will be responsible for monitoring petroleum product movements, ensuring accurate stock reconciliation, verifying product quality and quantity, overseeing loading and discharge activities, and ensuring compliance with operational procedures and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the receipt, storage, transfer, and dispatch of petroleum products.
  • Supervise truck loading and product discharge operations to ensure accuracy.
  • Verify loading tickets, waybills, delivery notes, and other shipping documents.
  • Conduct daily stock monitoring and reconciliation.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies, shortages, gains, or losses.
  • Monitor product contamination risks during storage and transportation.
  • Coordinate product sampling and testing where required.
  • Report any quality deviations immediately.
  • Ensure all loading and discharge activities comply with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Verify that only authorized vehicles receive products.
  • Ensure seals, compartment integrity, and product documentation are properly verified.
  • Maintain accurate records of product receipts, transfers, and dispatches.
  • Prepare operational and exception reports.
  • Document product losses, spillages, contamination, or operational incidents.
  • Maintain product movement logs and reconciliation records.
  • Conduct depot, warehouse, and customer site inspections.
  • Monitor truck arrivals and departures.
  • Verify delivery completion and customer acknowledgements.
  • Follow up on delayed deliveries and unresolved operational issues.
  • Support regulatory inspections and internal audits.
  • Maintain proper operational documentation for compliance purposes.
  • Monitor product losses and shrinkage.
  • Identify unusual stock variances.
  • Report suspected product diversion, theft, or unauthorized product movement.
  • Recommend corrective actions to minimize operational losses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Chemistry, Industrial Management, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant certifications in Oil & Gas Operations, Supply Chain Management, or Health & Safety are an added advantage.
  • 2–4 years of experience in downstream oil and gas operations, depot operations, petroleum logistics, inventory control, or product monitoring.
  • Experience in petroleum product loading, stock reconciliation, and distribution monitoring is preferred.
