We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Accounts Clerk

Location: Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Summary

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Account Clerk to support the Finance and Accounts team by maintaining accurate financial records, processing financial transactions, and assisting with day-to-day accounting operations.
  • The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements while contributing to the efficient and accurate management of the organization's financial activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Developing and maintaining the company’s financial policies and procedures
  • Consolidate annual budget, including long-term cash flow planning and rolling business plan/forecast information for subsequent years
  • Manage timetable for Lead input to budgeting, forecasting & monthly reporting requirements
  • Perform key balance sheet reconciliations and central journal postings (advanced bookings; project prepayments and deferred income, income posting, etc.)
  • Creating and completing financial reporting systems
  • Maintain orderly account filing system
  • Maintain the chart of accounts
  • Prepare periodic reconciliation statements and ensure that bank reconciliations are completed
  • Ensure proper management of accounts payable and receivable in a timely manner
  • Ensure that all reasonable discounts are given on accounts payable
  • Monitoring and controlling cash flow
  • Generate payment request and petty cash
  • Generates monthly summary of expenditures report
  • Selection and maintenance of financial software
  • Applies provisions of all financial regulations and ensures compliance by the Group

Requirements

  • A good first Degree in Accounting / Finance or any of the Social / Management Sciences or related discipline
  • 1-3 years post NYSC experience in financial control and reporting
  • A minimum student membership of ICAN or ACCA is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc)
  • Strong financial accounting and reporting skills
  • Up to date knowledge of accounting regulations
  • Flexibility and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Financial modelling
  • General managerial/ administration skills
