Job Summary

• We are seeking to hire an experienced and highly disciplined Chief Security Officer (CSO) to oversee and manage all security operations at its Kano facility.
• The ideal candidate will have a strong military background, extensive industrial security experience, and the ability to effectively engage with local communities and stakeholders.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing security strategies, safeguarding company assets, personnel, and operations, as well as ensuring compliance with corporate security policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage site security policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Oversee the security of company personnel, assets, facilities, and operations.
• Lead and supervise security teams, contractors, and guards to ensure effective security coverage.
• Conduct regular security risk assessments and implement mitigation measures.
• Monitor and investigate security incidents, breaches, theft, vandalism, and other security-related matters.
• Liaise with law enforcement agencies, military formations, civil defense, and other security stakeholders.
• Develop emergency response plans and coordinate crisis management activities.
• Ensure compliance with company security standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and submit periodic security reports to management.
• Coordinate security awareness programs and training for employees.
• Gather and analyze security intelligence relevant to business operations.
• Maintain effective relationships with host communities and local authorities.
• Manage access control systems, surveillance equipment, and other security infrastructure.
• Conduct investigations and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Perform other security-related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Security Management, Criminology, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Relevant security certifications will be an added advantage.
• Military or law enforcement training/certification is highly desirable.

Experience:

• Minimum of 8-15 years' experience in security management.
• Military experience is mandatory.
• Proven experience in an industrial, manufacturing, mining, steel, or related operational environment is required.
• Experience managing large-scale security operations and teams.
• Strong network and experience working with security agencies and government authorities.

• Security risk assessment and crisis management expertise.
• Incident investigation and report writing skills.
• Effective stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution abilities.

• Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Requirements:

• Candidate must be currently based in Kano State or willing to relocate to Kano.
• Ability to speak and understand Hausa fluently is essential.
• Strong understanding of the security dynamics within Northern Nigeria will be an added advantage.
