Job Title: Manager, Provider Relations

Location: Ikeja, Lagos

The Opportunity

  • Mitera is building its provider network from the ground up, and few opportunities exist in Nigerian health insurance to shape a facility base from its earliest days. As Manager, Provider Relations, you will lead and streamline provider network operations end-to-end:identifying,acquiring, contracting, andonboarding providers, and building a consistent, efficient approach to managing them as the network scales.
  • You willownthe provider's entire journey with Mitera, from first contact and contracting through onboarding, tiering, and ongoing relationship management, working to a Year 1 target of approximately1000 contracted facilities. You will work alongside a senior leadership team with deep institutional knowledge of HMO operations, NHIA regulation, and clinical informatics, including the Head,Operations,and the Chief Executive Officer.

What you will own

  • Provider acquisition and onboarding.Identify,prioritize, and sign providers toward the Year 1 facility base target. Lead contracting,tiering, and credentialing, and ensure every new provider is fullyonboarded,tariffs loaded, platform access activated, and expectations set before they see a member.
  • Provider experience.Develop and run processes that make working with Mitera simple and positive for providers, measured through feedback surveys.Identifyand fix pain points in the provider journey while ensuring compliance with NHIA and other applicable regulations in every engagement.
  • Network performance.Use data and analytics to track provider network performance, spot risks, andidentifyareas for improvement. Own andmaintaindashboards that set clear targets for acquisition, onboarding, and provider quality, and allow progress to be measured.
  • Member experience at providers.Design strategies to improve how Mitera members are treated when they visit providers. Work with providers to reducewaittimes and raise the quality of care, and design incentives that reward providers who consistently delivertimely, high-quality service.
  • Cross-functional collaboration.Partner with Claims, Payments, and Quality Assurance to ensure provider-facing processes are smooth and aligned. Ensure provider onboarding and contracting decisionstosupportortefficient claims handling, cost control, and quality care. Own escalations, working across teams to resolve immediate issues and prevent recurrence.
  • Team leadership.Recruit, manage, and develop the provider acquisition and relationship management team to deliver strong results as the network scales. Use data to guide team performance on acquisition pace, provider quality, and member satisfaction, and build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

About You
Essential:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Public Health, Business, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in healthcare operations, provider relations, health insurance, or hospital/clinic administration, ideally within the Nigerian market.
  • Demonstrated success managing external partnerships or networks, including onboarding, contracting, and relationship management.
  • Working knowledge of the NHIA Act 2022 and prior experience insideanNHIA-regulatedorganization.
  • Strong leadership experience with a proven ability to manage, coach, and develop a team.
  • Experience using data and analytics tomonitorperformance,identifytrends, and drive improvement.
  • Strong communicationand stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Strong written and documentation discipline; comfortable authoring SOPs, contracts, and onboarding materials.
  • Personal qualities: pace, intellectual honesty, and the maturity to run a function while drawing on senior advisory support.
  • Primary location: Nigeria, with travelrequiredto other states as the network grows.

Desirable:

  • Direct experience in healthcare, health insurance, or hospital/clinic administration.
  • Familiarity with digital health platforms or technology-enabled service delivery.
  • Experience managing quality improvementprogrammes, customer satisfaction initiatives, or service delivery improvements.
  • Experience standing up a provider network from an early orlicensedstage.
  • International managed-care exposure.
