Job Overview

  • Biase Plantations Limited is seeking a skilled and experienced SUV Mechanic to join its workshop team at Calaro Estate.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance of sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and other light-duty vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability.
  • This position requires strong technical expertise in automotive systems, fault diagnosis, and repair, as well as a commitment to workplace safety and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance of SUVs and light-duty vehicles.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, transmission, suspension, steering, and braking system faults.
  • Conduct vehicle inspections to identify defects and recommend corrective actions.
  • Repair or replace worn, damaged, or defective vehicle components.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and testing equipment to troubleshoot vehicle issues accurately.
  • Carry out engine tune-ups, overhauls, and performance checks as required.
  • Ensure all vehicles comply with safety, roadworthiness, and company operational standards.
  • Test vehicles before and after repairs to verify functionality and reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and spare parts usage reports.
  • Monitor the condition of workshop tools and equipment and report defects promptly.
  • Respond efficiently to vehicle breakdowns and emergency repair requests.
  • Provide technical recommendations on maintenance schedules and replacement requirements.
  • Adhere strictly to company Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop and fleet maintenance operations.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:

  • Technical Certificate, Trade Test, OND, or equivalent qualification in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2-5 years of practical experience in automotive maintenance and repair.
  • Hands-on experience working with SUVs, pick-up trucks, and other light-duty vehicles.
  • Knowledge of both petrol and diesel engine systems.
  • Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment and computerized diagnostic tools.

Desirable:

  • Valid Nigerian driver's license.
  • Additional automotive certifications from recognized institutions.
  • Experience working in plantation, industrial, logistics, or heavy operational environments.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong automotive diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair specifications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Salary
N125,000 - N150,000 per month.
