Main Function
- The Human Resources (HR) Volunteer provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources Department in delivering effective HR services to clients and internal stakeholders.
- The role contributes to the successful execution of recruitment, talent acquisition, onboarding, employee engagement, learning and development, HR administration, performance management, and other human resource initiatives while gaining practical experience in HR consulting and business advisory services.
- The HR Volunteer supports the implementation of HR projects, maintains accurate employee and client records, assists in recruitment processes, coordinates training activities, prepares HR documentation, and ensures compliance with established HR policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- The role requires a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- The HR Volunteer works collaboratively with members of the HR team to support the organization's commitment to delivering quality HR consulting solutions that meet client needs and contribute to organizational excellence.
Role Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition Support:
- Assist in drafting and posting job advertisements across approved recruitment platforms.
- Support candidate sourcing through job portals, social media, referrals, and talent databases.
- Screen applications against job requirements and prepare candidate shortlists.
- Coordinate interview schedules between candidates and hiring managers.
- Communicate interview invitations and follow-up correspondence with candidates.
- Assist in administering recruitment assessments where applicable.
- Maintain an up-to-date recruitment tracker and candidate database.
- Support background verification and reference checks.
HR Administration:
- Assist in maintaining employee and client HR records.
- Prepare employment documentation, including offer letters, onboarding documents, and personnel files.
- Ensure proper filing of HR documents in both electronic and physical formats.
- Update HR databases and employee records accurately.
- Assist in preparing HR reports and documentation.
- Support general administrative duties within the HR department.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee and client information.
Onboarding & Employee Experience:
- Support the onboarding process for newly recruited employees and interns.
- Prepare onboarding materials and orientation schedules.
- Assist in coordinating induction programmes.
- Ensure new hires complete required documentation.
- Support employee engagement initiatives and internal communication activities.
- Assist in organizing staff events and recognition programmes.
Learning & Development:
- Assist in coordinating training programmes, workshops, and capacity-building initiatives.
- Prepare training materials and attendance records.
- Support participant registration and logistics for training sessions.
- Maintain training records and learning databases.
- Assist in evaluating training effectiveness through feedback collection.
HR Consulting Support:
- Support consultants in executing HR projects for clients.
- Assist in organizational diagnostics, research, and data collection.
- Prepare HR templates, presentations, reports, and client documentation.
- Conduct basic HR research on labour laws, industry trends, and HR best practices.
- Assist in reviewing HR policies, job descriptions, organizational structures, and HR manuals.
- Support project documentation and implementation activities.
Performance Management Support:
- Assist in coordinating performance appraisal exercises.
- Update performance management records.
- Prepare performance review documentation.
- Support monitoring of performance evaluation timelines.
- Assist in compiling performance data and reports.
Employee Relations & Compliance:
- Support HR initiatives that promote employee engagement and workplace wellbeing.
- Assist in communicating HR policies and organizational updates.
- Support compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
- Escalate employee concerns to the appropriate HR personnel where necessary.
- Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in handling employee information.
Research & Continuous Improvement:
- Conduct research on emerging HR trends and industry best practices.
- Support the review and improvement of HR processes and procedures.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and HR analytics.
- Contribute ideas that improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Participate in departmental meetings, learning sessions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare weekly activity reports detailing assigned tasks and completed activities.
- Maintain accurate records of recruitment, training, and HR projects.
- Support preparation of monthly HR reports and dashboards.
- Ensure proper documentation of HR activities and project deliverables.
- Perform other duties assigned by the HR Manager or HR Business Partner.

Qualifications and Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, or a related discipline.
- NYSC members, recent graduates, or candidates seeking practical HR experience are encouraged to apply.
Experience:
- Previous internship, volunteer, or administrative experience in Human Resources is an added advantage.
- Demonstrated interest in Human Resources, Talent Management, or HR Consulting.
- Experience using Microsoft Office applications is desirable.
