Dragnet Solutions Limited - Our client, a reputable multi-specialist hospital, is recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Consultant, Radiology

Location: Abuja

About the role

  • Provides specialist radiology services as a registered medical practitioner, leading the interpretation of diagnostic imaging and the clinical governance of the imaging service.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and report diagnostic imaging across modalities and provide specialist radiological opinion.
  • Provide clinical oversight and governance of the imaging service, including justification and optimisation of imaging.
  • Advise clinical colleagues on appropriate imaging and support multidisciplinary case discussion.
  • Supervise and support radiographers and trainees in clinical/diagnostic matters.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, audit, radiation safety and quality improvement.
  • Maintain valid MDCN registration/licence and comply with internal clinical policies.

Requirements
Education:

  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or MBChB) from a recognised institution.
  • Completion of the required national housemanship/internship and NYSC, or a valid exemption where applicable.
  • A registrable postgraduate specialist qualification (Fellowship) in the relevant discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of post-fellowship specialist experience in radiology, or equivalent recognised consultant-level practice in radiology.
  • Demonstrable competence in the independent specialist interpretation and reporting of diagnostic imaging.

Required skills:

  • Specialist knowledge of diagnostic radiology and image interpretation across modalities.
  • Understanding of radiation protection, justification and optimisation.
  • Ability to advise clinical colleagues and lead imaging governance.
  • Effective communication and teaching skills.
  • Sound clinical record-keeping.
  • Experience teaching, training and supervising junior staff and radiographers in clinical matters.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver imaging services.
  • Experience contributing to clinical audit, radiation safety, quality improvement or service improvement in imaging.

Nice to have:

  • Additional sub-specialty training or certification relevant to the discipline.Membership of relevant specialty associations or faculties.
