Job Title: Dental Therapist
Location: Abuja
About the Role
- Provides dental therapy services within scope, including preventive and basic restorative care, supporting the dental team and promoting oral health.
Responsibilities
- Provide preventive and basic restorative dental care within scope of practice.
- Carry out oral-health education and promotion.
- Support dental practitioners during procedures.
- Maintain accurate dental records and infection-prevention standards.
Requirements
Education:
- A recognised qualification in Dental Therapy (HND or B.Sc in Dental Therapy from an accredited institution).
- Completion of the required one-year internship and NYSC, or a valid exemption where applicable.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of post-registration experience in dental therapy.
- Post-registration experience in dental therapy practice.
- Clinical / technical competence appropriate to the role, exercised with appropriate supervision.
Required skills:
- Knowledge of dental therapy practice within scope.
- Competence in preventive and basic restorative procedures.
- Understanding of infection prevention and oral-health promotion.
- Accurate record-keeping.
- Effective communication with patients and the dental team.
