Job Title: Sanctions Compliance Analyst
Location: Lagos

Job Objectives
- To establish, implement, and continuously enhance an effective sanctions compliance framework that ensures Unified Payments' compliance with applicable sanctions laws and regulations by overseeing customer and transaction screening, preventing the onboarding of sanctioned individuals or entities, enforcing timely sanctions actions, supporting regulatory reporting and stakeholder engagement, promoting staff awareness through training, and continuously monitoring and improving the sanctions programme to effectively mitigate sanctions-related risks.
Duties & Respoonsibilities
- Implement and manage a robust sanctions screening programme across the Unified Payments’ customer base and transactions
- Maintain an internal database of black-listed customers and ensure customers on the list are not onboarded by Unified Payments
- Conduct review and investigation of screening results/alerts, take freezing action, develop report resulting from sanctions screening analysis for filling with the NFIU/NSC
- Liaise with the NFIU/NSC on sanctions compliance matters
- Monitor the effectiveness of the sanctions programme and recommend improvements
- Provide input to AML/CFT/CPF reports to senior management and the Board
- Provide input on AML/CFT/CPF internal training
- Any other task that may be assigned by the supervisor or CCO from time to time.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Policy, Law, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Professional certification in compliance such as DCP, CAMS, ICA, CFE
- 4 - 6 years of relevant compliance and Audit experience, preferably in reputable financial institutions or in the payments industry
- A critical thinker with strong and proven analytical capabilities.
