Job Title: Mechanical Technician
Location: Senegal
Job Description
- He is responsible for the maintenance of equipment in the mechanical department; ensuring that the equipment is in good working order by carrying out routine maintenance.
Key Activities and Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance on all related plant equipment to minimize downtime under the supervision of the supervisor or section head.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper operation and detect defects and malfunctions.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure it is in good working order and complies with the operating standards specified by the manufacturer.
- Clean and lubricate equipment systematically.
- Keep work areas clean after maintenance activities.
- Perform any other tasks that may be assigned by the line manager.
Qualifications and Professional Experience
- BTS (Advanced Vocational Diploma) in Electromechanics with 2 years of similar experience
- Baccalaureate in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of similar experience.
- CAP (Vocational Certificate) in Industrial Mechanics with 10 years of similar experience.
- Note: Experience in maintenance in an industrial or other manufacturing environment.
Skills and Competencies:
- Knowledge of factory equipment repair and maintenance.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good ability to work in a team.
- Knowledge of computer tools would be an asset.
Job-related HSE skills:
- Ability to use fire-fighting equipment
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety risks associated with the job and the control measures
- Knowledge of proper lifting techniques and postures.
