Job Description
- We are seeking a skilled, accurate, and professional Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our laboratory team.
- The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic tests, uphold quality standards, and contribute to timely, reliable patient results.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of laboratory tests in Hematology, Clinical Chemistry, Microbiology, Immunology, and Serology.
- Receive, process, and analyze patient samples in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality control, quality assurance, and biosafety protocols.
- Review, validate, and release accurate test results to clinicians.
- Maintain proper documentation, reagent inventory, and laboratory records.
- Participate in internal audits, external quality assurance programs, and continuous improvement activities.
- Support infection control and proper biohazard waste management.
- Collaborate with clinical and laboratory staff to improve turnaround time and service quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) degree from a recognized institution.
- Valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
- National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate (completed).
- Previous experience in a diagnostic laboratory is an added advantage.
Requirements & Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of laboratory procedures and modern diagnostic equipment.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in laboratory information management systems and Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and continuous professional development.
