Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and hands-on Head of Operations (Facilities & Maintenance) to oversee the technical operations, maintenance, and reliability of all facility systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, cleaning, and general building infrastructure.
- The ideal candidate must have strong practical knowledge and technical expertise, with the ability to diagnose faults, lead maintenance teams, supervise contractors, and ensure the facility operates efficiently with minimal downtime.
- This role is designed for a hands-on operations leader who understands the technical aspects of facility management and can actively engage with engineers, technicians, and maintenance teams while driving high standards of safety, efficiency, and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Technical Operations:
Oversee the daily operation, maintenance, and performance of all facility systems, including:
- Electrical systems
- Plumbing systems
- HVAC systems
- Generators and power systems
- Water supply and drainage systems
- Building maintenance systems
- Conduct regular inspections of facility infrastructure to identify faults, risks, and maintenance needs
- Troubleshoot and provide technical solutions to equipment failures and operational challenges
- Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance schedules are implemented effectively
- Respond promptly to major breakdowns and facility emergencies
- Ensure all equipment and systems operate efficiently and safely
Electrical Operations:
Supervise and support electrical maintenance activities, including:
- Power distribution systems
- Lighting systems
- Electrical panels
- Generator operations
- Electrical fault detection and repairs
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and procedures
Plumbing & Water Systems:
- Oversee plumbing operations, including:
- Water supply systems
- Pumps
- Storage tanks
- Drainage systems
- Sewage systems
- Sanitary installations
- Ensure quick resolution of leakages, blockages, and water-related issues
HVAC & Mechanical Systems:
- Manage HVAC operations and maintenance, including:
- Air conditioning systems
- Cooling systems
- Ventilation systems
- Monitor equipment performance and coordinate repairs or servicing where required
Cleaning & Environmental Operations:
- Supervise cleaning operations to ensure:
- Cleanliness standards are maintained
- Hygiene requirements are met
- Public areas and facilities are properly maintained
- Ensure proper cleaning schedules, standards, and procedures are followed
Team Leadership & Supervision:
- Lead and supervise:
- Facility Officers
- Technicians
- Electricians
- Plumbers
- HVAC technicians
- Cleaning teams
- Assign daily tasks and monitor completion
- Train and develop technical teams
- Ensure discipline, accountability, and productivity across operations staff
Vendor & Contractor Management:
- Supervise external contractors and maintenance vendors
- Evaluate quality of completed work
- Ensure contractors comply with safety and operational standards
- Recommend reliable technical solutions and service providers
Safety & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with:
- Health and safety regulations
- Facility operating standards
- Preventive maintenance requirements
- Identify operational risks and implement corrective measures
- Maintain proper maintenance records and reports

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Facilities Management and related technical discipline
- Minimum of 8–12 years' experience in facilities operations, maintenance, or engineering management
- Proven hands-on experience managing:
- Electrical systems
- Plumbing systems
- HVAC systems
- Building maintenance operations
- Strong technical troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills
- Experience managing technicians and maintenance teams
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and equipment manuals
- Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices
- Experience managing commercial facilities, malls, hotels, estates, hospitals, or large buildings is highly preferred

Salary
N300,000 - N450,000 Monthly (Negotiable).
