We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Fleet Operations Officer

Location: Alafia, Coker - Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the company's fleet, ensuring all vehicles and motorcycles are safe, roadworthy, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, coordinate, and optimize delivery and transportation routes to improve operational efficiency, minimize transit time, and reduce fuel and operating costs.
  • Implement and monitor a preventive maintenance schedule for all fleet vehicles and motorcycles to maximize asset availability and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate routine servicing, repairs, inspections, and emergency maintenance with internal technicians and external service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable transportation, road safety, licensing, insurance, and regulatory requirements within Nigeria.
  • Monitor driver compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and traffic regulations, taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance management of drivers to ensure high service standards and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee daily fleet utilization, vehicle allocation, trip scheduling, and dispatch activities to meet business and customer requirements.
  • Monitor fuel consumption, vehicle utilization, maintenance expenses, and other fleet-related costs, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate fleet documentation, including vehicle records, maintenance logs, fuel records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Generate periodic operational reports covering fleet performance, maintenance status, fuel usage, routing efficiency, vehicle availability, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Analyze fleet and logistics data to identify trends, improve productivity, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Collaborate with operations, warehouse, procurement, and other departments to ensure seamless transportation and distribution activities.
  • Assist in preparing and managing the fleet operations budget, including maintenance, fuel, repairs, and vehicle replacement planning.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet efficiency, driver productivity, safety performance, and service delivery.
  • Perform any other logistics, fleet, or operational duties as assigned by management.
