Job Title: House Mistress
Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety, welfare, and well-being of all boarding students.
- Supervise daily boarding house operations and routines.
- Maintain discipline while fostering a warm, nurturing, and supportive environment.
- Monitor students’ academic progress, attendance, and personal development.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and emotional support to students.
- Coordinate boarding house activities, schedules, and recreational programs.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, health, and behavior.
- Liaise effectively with parents, teachers, school administrators, and healthcare providers.
- Ensure compliance with school policies, health regulations, and safeguarding procedures.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and student welfare concerns.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Social Sciences, Child Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working with children or adolescents in a school, boarding, residential, or pastoral care setting.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage student welfare issues with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of child safeguarding and welfare practices.
- First Aid certification is an added advantage.
- Must be mature, responsible, compassionate, and capable of living on campus if required.
