Job Summary
- We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Project Management Officer to support the planning, coordination, monitoring, and successful execution of construction projects.
- The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, site teams, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with approved quality and safety standards.
- The Project Management Officer will be responsible for maintaining effective project documentation, tracking project progress, monitoring timelines and deliverables, coordinating project activities, and providing timely reports to support informed management decisions
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning, coordination, and monitoring of construction projects from initiation through completion.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, trackers, and project documentation to ensure timely execution of project activities.
- Monitor project progress against approved timelines, milestones, budgets, and deliverables, and promptly highlight delays, risks, and potential issues.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
- Prepare and maintain accurate project reports, status updates, meeting minutes, action trackers, and other relevant project documentation.
- Track project costs and expenditure in collaboration with the Finance and Project teams, ensuring activities remain within approved budgets.
- Assist in monitoring the procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and other resources required for project execution.
- Maintain an up-to-date project risk, issue, and change log, escalating critical matters to the Project Manager when necessary.
- Support project teams in identifying operational challenges and developing practical solutions to minimize delays and cost overruns.
- Ensure project documentation, approvals, contracts, drawings, reports, and other records are properly maintained and easily accessible.
- Monitor compliance with approved project procedures, company policies, health and safety requirements, and relevant construction standards.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
- Assist in preparing project presentations and management reports, providing insights on project performance, progress, risks, and outstanding actions.
- Support project close-out activities, including documentation, lessons learned, handover processes, and post-project reviews.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in project coordination, project management, or project administration, preferably within the construction, or real estate industry.
- Professional certification in Project Management, such as PMP, PRINCE2, or CAPM, will be an added advantage.
- Good knowledge of project management principles, construction processes, project scheduling, and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of project planning, scheduling, cost tracking, risk management, and stakeholder coordination.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
