Job Title: HSE Manager

Location: Koko, Delta
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • The HSE Manager is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, driving a strong safety culture, and overseeing environmental protection across all operations.
  • This role requires leadership, technical expertise, and deep knowledge of Nigerian and international HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities
Policy Development & Implementation:

  • Establish and enforce HSE policies aligned with Nigerian laws and global best practices.
  • Maintain and update the company’s HSE Management System.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Liaise with DPR/NUPRC, FMEnv, NOSDRA, and other agencies.
  • Prepare for audits, inspections, and certifications.

Risk & Incident Management:

  • Conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), HAZID/HAZOP reviews, and risk assessments.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.

Environmental Management:

  • Oversee waste management, pollution prevention, spill response, and environmental monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental impact mitigation standards.

Training & Awareness:

  • Organize toolbox talks, emergency drills, and HSE training programs.
  • Build awareness among employees, contractors, and stakeholders.

Emergency Preparedness:

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for petroleum, marine, and haulage operations.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Occupational Health & Safety.
  • 10 - 12 years’ experience in HSE within oil & gas or related industries.
  • Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ISPON, OSHA or its equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of Nigerian Oil & Gas regulatory framework.
  • Proven experience in waste management, pollution control, and marine operations.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work in high-risk, fast-paced environments.

Salary
N1,200,000 – N1,500,000 per month (Net Salary). However, the salary can be negotiated upward depending on the candidate’s experience.
