Job Title: Primary School Teacher

Location: Fate-GRA Ilorin, Kwara

About the Role

  • We are seeking an exceptional Grade 1 Teacher to join our growing learning community.
  • This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about nurturing confident, curious, and independent learners during their foundational primary years.
  • The successful candidate will combine strong academic instruction with a genuine commitment to the social, emotional, and character development of every child.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high quality lessons in Literacy, Numeracy, Science, and Social Studies, aligned with curriculum standards and Montessori inspired learning principles.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where every child feels valued, supported, and empowered to learn.
  • Monitor and assess student progress through observation, classwork, projects, and formal assessments, providing timely support and feedback where needed.
  • Foster children’s confidence, independence, critical thinking, and love for learning through purposeful classroom experiences.
  • Incorporate hands on materials, interactive activities, and real world connections that make learning meaningful and memorable.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and guardians through effective communication and regular progress updates.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan enriching learning experiences, school programmes, and community events.
  • Participate actively in professional development opportunities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field.
  • 1 - 2 years of teaching experience, preferably within an early primary or lower elementary setting.
  • Understanding of Montessori education or a genuine willingness to learn and apply Montessori principles.
  • Passion for working with children and supporting their academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to design engaging learning experiences that accommodate diverse learning needs and styles.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, creativity, initiative, and commitment to educational excellence.

Working Environment:

  • Active engagement with young learners, including standing, walking, bending, and floor level interaction as required.
  • Standard school hours with occasional participation in school events, workshops, and family engagement activities.
  • Opportunities to support outdoor learning, project based experiences, and experiential education initiatives.
