About the Role

• Birchwood Montessori Academy is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Class Aide (Assistant Class Teacher) to support our teaching team in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for young children.
• The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for working with children and a willingness to actively support classroom activities, student care, and daily learning experiences.
• This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and eager to contribute to the growth and development of young learners.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher in implementing daily classroom activities and learning experiences.
• Assist in preparing and organizing learning materials, classroom resources, and Montessori activities.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Provide support to children during lessons, playtime, meal times, and other daily routines.
• Supervise children and promote positive behaviour, respect, and good social skills.
• Assist with classroom observations and support children’s learning and developmental progress.
• Support outdoor activities, creative projects, and school events as required.
• Foster warm and positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Assist with arrival, dismissal, and general classroom transitions throughout the school day.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND, NCE, or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience working with young children will be an added advantage.
• Passion for child development and early years education.
• Patient, caring, energetic, and attentive personality.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and reliability.
• Willingness to learn and embrace Montessori educational principles.
• Working Environment
• Active engagement with young children throughout the school day.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting classroom materials, and assisting children as needed.
• Standard school hours with occasional participation in school programmes and events.
• Opportunities to learn, grow, and gain practical experience within a supportive educational environment.
