Al Ihsan ATC Farms is a highly promising and rapidly growing commercial agricultural enterprise based in Yarimawa village, Kano. We are currently executing a strategic expansion phase to scale our layer bird capacity to an initial milestone of 10,000 birds, with plans for continued long-term growth.

Job Title: Farm Manager (Poultry)

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly competent, driven, and hands-on Farm Manager to oversee our daily operations and ensure optimal production, flock health, and profitability.

Role Overview

  • The Farm Manager will assume full operational responsibility for the poultry farm and serve as the primary driver of our production targets. Reporting directly to the executive leadership, the successful candidate must be highly articulate, responsive, and capable of providing clear, accurate, and data-driven daily reports on farm operations and performance.

Key Responsibilities
Farm Operations & Administration:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring strict adherence to biosecurity protocols and industry best practices.
  • Supervise, train, and manage all farm workers and casual staff, fostering a culture of accountability, discipline, and high performance.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date daily records of mortality, feed consumption, egg production, medication, and other key farm metrics.
  • Provide proactive, timely, and comprehensive daily operational updates
  • including challenges, achievements, and performance reports.

Input & Inventory Management:

  • Manage the procurement, storage, and efficient utilization of essential farm inputs (feed, vaccines, vitamins, medications, and sanitation chemicals).
  • Monitor feed formulation, rationing, and consumption to optimize bird nutrition while minimizing wastage.
  • Ensure all farm machinery, poultry housing systems, equipment, and utilities are properly maintained and operational.

Flock Health & Production Management:

  • Implement and monitor vaccination, medication, and preventive health programs.
  • Regularly inspect the flock for signs of disease, stress, injury, or malnutrition, taking immediate corrective action where necessary.
  • Drive the farm toward its expansion goals while maintaining high egg production, optimal bird welfare, and minimal mortality rates.

Qualifications & Experience Educational Qualification

  • Minimum of a Diploma (e.g., OND, ND) and above in Animal Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Medicine, or a closely related discipline.
  • Relevant professional certifications in farm management, biosecurity, or poultry production will be an added advantage.

Experience:

  • Proven practical experience working in or managing a commercial poultry farm.
  • Direct experience managing layer birds is a significant advantage.
