Job Title: Account Officer

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • Redex Food Pack is seeking a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and results-driven Account Officer to join our Finance & Accounts team.
  • Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, cost control, inventory accountability, cash flow management, statutory compliance, and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger.
  • Record daily financial transactions and perform regular bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
  • Develop and maintain product costing and cost-per-unit analysis.
  • Monitor production costs, raw material usage, wastage, and cost variances.
  • Track inventory movements and reconcile physical stock with system records.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and customer reconciliations.
  • Support payroll preparation by validating attendance, deductions, and staff costs.
  • Prepare monthly Profit & Loss statements, cash flow reports, balance sheets, and management reports.
  • Ensure timely compliance with all statutory obligations, including VAT, PAYE, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with Production, Procurement, Operations, and HR to improve financial efficiency and operational performance.
  • Identify financial risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost optimization.

Requirements

  • HND or B.Sc. in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Professional accounting certification (ICAN, ACCA, or ACA) is an added advantage.
  • 2-3 years Proven experience in accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory management, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Good understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment.
