We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician

Location: Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time

Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of a laboratory technician include:

• Prepare samples, reagents, and solutions for laboratory testing and experiments.
• Operate and calibrate laboratory instruments including spectrophotometers, centrifuges, and microscopes.
• Conduct routine and specialized laboratory tests following established standard operating procedures.
• Record experimental data accurately and maintain organized laboratory notebooks.
• Clean, sterilize, and maintain laboratory equipment and workspaces.
• Monitor inventory levels and order laboratory supplies and chemicals as needed.
• Assist research scientists with experimental setups and data collection.
• Follow strict safety protocols for handling hazardous materials and biological specimens.
• Prepare reports summarizing test results for review by supervising scientists.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and help maintain laboratory accreditation standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed as a laboratory technician, you will need the following skills and qualifications:

• Candidates should possess minimum of OND qualifications with 2-5 years relevant work experience. 
• Proficiency with standard laboratory equipment and instruments
• Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and procedures
• Excellent attention to detail and data recording accuracy
• Knowledge of sample preparation and handling techniques
• Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Understanding of quality control and quality assurance practices
• Good organizational and time management abilities
• Basic statistical analysis and data entry skills
• Valid License

Education and Training:

• Laboratory Technician positions typically require an Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
