Job Title: Machine Technician (FMCG)

Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production machinery to ensure maximum equipment uptime, operational efficiency, and compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on production equipment, including conveyors, mixers, packaging machines, pumps, motors, and other mechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults to minimize downtime.
  • Install, align, and calibrate production machinery.
  • Support equipment upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, and Health & Safety standards.
  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Engineering teams to achieve production targets.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
  • Train machine operators on basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Requirements

  • HND/ B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in the Food Manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, gear systems, welding, and fabrication.
  • Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems is an added advantage.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to work shifts in a manufacturing environment.
