Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to strengthen our Human Resource team.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of employee payroll across the organization.
  • The role ensures payroll transactions, statutory remittances, and reporting are executed in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and established service standards.
  • The Payroll Officer collaborates with internal stakeholders and statutory agencies to maintain payroll integrity, confidentiality, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate payment to employees.
  • Ensure the registration of new employee in the biometric system and ORION ERP.
  • Ensure that changes in employee records are processed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collect and review daily attendance data from the biometric system.
  • Resolve discrepancies regarding missing punches or work hours.
  • Ensure the accuracy of employee annual leave; casual leave and sick leave entitlements.
  • Ensure that on a weekly basis the Shift Roaster is accurately apportioned in the biometric system.
  • Accuracy of payroll calculations.
  • Timeliness of payroll processing.
  • Ensure privacy and security of all employee documentation.
  • Compliance management: ensure compliance with all payroll-related laws and regulations
  • Accuracy of PAYE deductions
  • Adherence to labour laws
  • Completion of payroll audits.
  • Liaise with Account team to ensure data accuracy and updates.
  • Address and resolve employee queries related to payroll in a timely manner
  • Manage relationship with payroll service provider and vendor
  • Liaise with payroll service provider for prompt resolution vendor-related issues.
  • Ensure system uptime and reliability.
  • Reduction in system downtime.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the payroll team for optimal performance.
  • Lead and motivate the payroll team towards success.

Requirements

  • Minimum of HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, or related field.
  • 3–8years of proven payroll experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in Payroll software
  • Strong communication and relationship skills.
  • Good analytical and judgemental skills.
  • Ability to self-manage and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Attention to details and capacity to problem solve.
  • Must be results-oriented and self-motivated.

Salary
N350,000 per month.
