We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Agribusiness Sales Team Lead 

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Reports To: Sales Manager

Job Purpose

  • The Agribusiness Sales Team Lead will manage a team of 10 Sales Executives, with each executive responsible for selling a minimum of 10 Larvariums monthly.
  • The Team Lead’s primary target is the team’s cumulative performance of 100 Larvariums per month.
  • The successful candidate must have strong sales experience, proven sales leadership ability, investors, and other relevant decision-makers.
  • Candidates are expected to have a network that can support direct sales, strategic introductions, and additional business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership:

  • Lead, supervise, motivate, and manage a team of 10 Agribusiness Sales Executives.
  • Ensure each Sales Executive works towards a monthly target of 10 Larvariums.
  • Drive the team towards a cumulative monthly target of 100 Larvariums.
  • Develop weekly and monthly sales plans.
  • Monitor leads, customer meetings, farm visits, proposals, follow-ups, and closed sales.
  • Conduct regular pipeline and performance reviews.
  • Coach team members on prospecting, pitching, negotiation, objection handling, and closing.
  • Address underperformance and implement corrective action where necessary.

Market Development:

  • Identify and pursue opportunities for the sales of our Laravriums.
  • Use existing industry relationships to generate qualified leads and introductions.
  • Build partnerships with agricultural associations, cooperatives, consultants, and distributors.
  • Recruit and manage independent sales partners and referral channels.
  • Support product presentations, demonstrations, exhibitions, and industry events.

Team and Sales Operations:

  • Build clear sales structures, processes, reporting systems, and performance standards.
  • Conduct weekly sales meetings and individual performance reviews.
  • Ensure proper customer follow-up and sales documentation.
  • Maintain a healthy and active sales pipeline across the team.
  • Track conversion rates, sales activity, and forecasted closures.
  • Provide management with market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitor information.

Performance Targets
Team Structure:

  • 10 Agribusiness Sales Executives
  • Monthly target per Sales Executive: 10 Larvariums
  • Total monthly team target: 100 Larvariums

Key Leadership KPIs
The Team Lead will be assessed based on:

  • Total Larvariums sold by the team
  • Percentage of Sales Executives achieving their targets
  • Pipeline strength and conversion rate
  • Number of active and productive sales partners
  • Quality of sales coaching and team development
  • Customer engagement and follow-up
  • Accuracy of sales reporting and forecasting
  • Development of partnerships and sales channels
  • Ability to create and maintain an effective sales structure

Candidate Requirements
Essential Experience:

  • Minimum of five years’ relevant sales experience, preferably in agribusiness, real estate and investments.
  • Proven experience leading and managing a sales team.
  • Demonstrable history of achieving demanding sales targets.
  • Strong knowledge of the agricultural market in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and surrounding areas.
  • Network Requirement. Applicants must have a strong and relevant professional network that can support immediate market penetration. Candidates should be able to explain the strength of their network and how it can contribute to sales within their first 30 to 60 days.

Working Arrangement:

  • Mandatory office presence: three days per week.
  • During the initial stage of the sales operation, the Team Lead may be required to work from the office every weekday to establish the necessary sales structure, systems, reporting processes, and team discipline.
  • Once the sales operation is properly structured and stable, mandatory office presence will reduce to three days weekly.
  • Other working days will involve field supervision, customer meetings, farm visits, sales coaching, presentations, and market development.

Remuneration

  • Total Emolument: N400,000 monthly
  • Team Sales Commission: The Sales Team Lead earns N15,000 for every Larvarium sold by any member of the sales team. This commission is based on the total cumulative sales achieved by the team. Commission is discretionary and could be reviewed or stopped by the company. That is approximately N1,500,000
