Job Summary
- The Managing Director reports to the Deputy Group Managing Director and the Board.
- The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and executive oversight for the Company's operations, driving sustainable growth, operational excellence, financial performance, and corporate governance.
- The role is responsible for leading the executive management team, ensuring the effective execution of business strategies, optimizing operational efficiency, strengthening internal controls, and delivering superior customer satisfaction across all business units.
- The Managing Director will oversee all core business functions, including Operations, Business Development, Finance, Human Resources, Administration & Procurement, Internal Control, Fleet Operations & Maintenance, and Branch Operations. Inherent in this role is ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting a culture of accountability and high performance, developing strategic partnerships, and delivering long-term shareholder value while maintaining the Company's reputation as a leading mobility and fleet management solutions provider.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the overall operations of the Company, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives, growth strategies, and shareholder expectations.
- Lead and supervise executive management, including Operations, Business Development, Finance, Human Resources, Administration & Procurement, Internal Control, Fleet Operations & Maintenance, and Branch Operations, ensuring collaboration and accountability across all functions.
- Drive business growth by overseeing revenue generation initiatives, contract acquisition, market expansion, strategic partnerships, and customer relationship management.
- Ensure operational excellence by optimizing fleet utilization, improving service delivery, enhancing customer satisfaction, and maximizing asset productivity across all locations.
- Provide financial leadership by overseeing budgeting, financial planning, cost optimization, cash flow management, profitability analysis, and financial reporting to support informed decision-making.
- Strengthen corporate governance by ensuring effective internal controls, risk management practices, regulatory compliance, fraud prevention measures, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Lead talent management initiatives by working closely with Human Resources to attract, develop, retain, and motivate high-performing employees while fostering a culture of continuous learning and accountability.
- Oversee procurement, administrative functions, and resource utilization to ensure operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, and compliance with approved procurement policies.
- Monitor fleet maintenance, vehicle utilization, fueling efficiency, accident management, and operational performance to maximize equipment availability and customer satisfaction.
- Review business performance through regular analysis of financial reports, operational KPIs, branch profitability, contract profitability, fleet utilization, and customer service metrics, implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, regulatory authorities, financial institutions, business partners, and other stakeholders to strengthen the Company's market position.
- Prepare and present periodic operational, financial, and strategic performance reports to the Deputy Group Managing Director and the Board, providing recommendations to improve business performance and achieve organizational objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Management, or a related discipline.
- MBA or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, or a related field is required.
- Relevant professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CFA, CIBN, PMP, or membership of recognized management or industry professional bodies will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 10–15 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive leadership role within the mobility, leasing, fleet management, logistics, transportation, automotive, or related industries.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-functional business operations and driving organizational growth and profitability.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance, enterprise risk management, financial management, strategic planning, and business transformation.
- Proven track record in business development, contract negotiation, stakeholder management, and strategic partnership development.
- Excellent financial and commercial acumen with experience overseeing budgets, financial reporting, and performance management.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, decision-making, and people management skills.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to manage organizational change effectively.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, accountability, and sound business judgment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, business reporting tools, and enterprise management systems.
