Job Title: Mechanical Technician (Injection Moulding Machines)

Location: Onitsha, Anambra
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician with hands-on expertise in plastic injection moulding machines to join our maintenance team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and ensuring the optimal performance of injection moulding machines and other production equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on injection moulding machines.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to minimize machine downtime.
• Overhaul and service machine components including hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Install, align, and commission new production equipment.
• Replace worn or defective machine parts and ensure equipment operates efficiently.
• Conduct routine inspections and recommend improvements to enhance machine reliability.
• Work closely with the production team to resolve machine-related issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and service reports.
• Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and maintenance standards.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment efficiency and productivity.

Requirements

• OND, HND, or Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 3–5 years of practical experience maintaining plastic injection moulding machines in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, gearbox, bearing, and mechanical transmission systems.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
• Excellent troubleshooting and fault-diagnosis skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• The ideal candidate must possess strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and have practical experience working in a plastic manufacturing environment.

Added Advantage:

• Experience working with Haitian, Chen Hsong, Borche, or similar injection moulding machines.
• Knowledge of plastic processing operations and production equipment.
• Welding and fabrication skills will be an added advantage.
