Job Title: Construction Project Accountant

Location: Lekki, Lagos

Job Summary

• The Construction Project Accountant will be responsible for monitoring project finances, tracking construction costs, managing project accounts, and ensuring proper financial documentation and accountability across all construction activities.
• The ideal candidate should have practical experience working with construction teams, contractors, vendors, and project budgets.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records for construction projects.
• Monitor project budgets, expenses, and cost performance.
• Track payments to contractors, artisans, suppliers, and vendors.
• Review invoices, purchase requests, payment documents, and supporting records.
• Prepare project cost reports and financial updates.
• Reconcile project expenses and vendor accounts.
• Support project managers with financial analysis and cost information.
• Monitor material procurement costs and project expenditure.
• Identify cost variances and escalate financial risks.
• Maintain proper documentation of all project transactions.
• Support internal audits and financial reviews.
• Ensure compliance with company financial procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
• 3 - 5 years’ experience in construction/project accounting.
• Experience working with construction companies is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction costing, procurement processes, and project expenditure tracking.
• Ability to work closely with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Procurement, and Site Teams.
• Strong Excel and accounting software skills.
• High level of accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail.

Salary
N200,000 - N250,000 monthly.
