Activities
- Review and approve all civil designs and site preparatory works shop drawings in line with procedures, Company specifications, and standards.
- Ensure that the basis of design and specifications for buildings, civil, and structural works are adhered to.
- Review and approve all early works drawings, MTOs, and studies.
- Review and approve all Civil Engineering design deliverables (roads, excavation, jetty assessment, onshore plant civil infrastructure, and buildings, etc.) during the Detailed Engineering Design phase.
- Analyze the technical proposals by the EPC Contractor and ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Coordinate the various trades involved in Building Engineering to achieve optimized designs adapted to project needs.
- Lead all civil and structural aspects of the work and coordinate civil/structural interfaces with other disciplines/professions.
- Follow up fabrication activities on site and in Contractors’ fabrication yards to ensure compliance with engineering designs.
- Participate in audits for the different project phases, as required.
- Participate in and support project reviews (HAZID, HAZOP, 3D Model Reviews, etc.).
- Supervise site construction activities of foundations, concrete pipe sleepers, pipe support structures, equipment support structures, plant roads, shore protection, and dredging activities.
- Approve Requests for Inspection (RFI) at every milestone of construction.
- Review and approve route surveys or existing rights-of-way to re-establish the beacon points.
- Ensure that the Project Statement of Requirements and engineering dossier requirements are met safely while maintaining quality within budget and schedule.
- Ensure close interface with Engineering and Construction Contractors through Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning to ensure project delivery, tie-ins, and modifications.
- Ensure the quality of technical work and the technical integrity, constructability, and functionality.
- Ensure proper follow-up on red-line markups, as-built documentation, and close-out.
Context and Environment:
- IMA Gas Field Development Project is to develop 1.28 TCF of gas through a 4-slot shallow water conductor-supported wellhead platform in 8–10 m of water to produce 380 MMscf/d at plateau.
- The production fluid will be transported through an 18” × 15 km subsea and 18” × 7 km onshore pipeline system to the onshore dehydration system at the NEPL/WAGL-owned Bonny NAG Plant, situated within the Renaissance-operated Bonny Oil and Gas Terminal. Treated gas will be exported to Nigeria LNG.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the civil and structural aspects of engineering design and works, and proactively ensure there are no gaps and that the deliverables comply with Company requirements, SOR, General Specifications, and relevant international codes and standards throughout the project.
- Coordinate all interfaces with ECP, FO, and HQ on civil/structural-related activities, and advise on possible optimization strategies where required.
- Provide technical specialist input and support in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications involving engineering design, and ensure that Construction CTRs are adequately supported and guided during project execution for the overall achievement of project objectives.
- Support the Package Manager and Engineering Manager of Projects in delivering the package with a focus on safety, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Support and enforce the Project HSE objectives and directives and ensure all targets are achieved.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in civil and structural engineering.
- Experience in Oil and Gas EPC projects.
- Project management culture.
