Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Technician with hands-on expertise in plastic injection moulding machines to join our maintenance team.
• The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of blow moulding machines and related production equipment.
• The ideal candidate must possess strong mechanical aptitude, excellent fault diagnosis skills, and hands-on experience in a plastic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on blow moulding machines.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults to ensure maximum machine uptime.
• Inspect, repair, and replace mechanical components such as bearings, shafts, gears, chains, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic components.
• Perform machine overhauls and equipment alignment when required.
• Ensure proper lubrication and routine servicing of production equipment.
• Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and implement effective corrective actions.
• Collaborate with production personnel to improve machine performance and operational efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and prepare technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with company safety standards and maintenance procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing downtime and increasing productivity.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND, HND, or Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• NYSC or discharge certificate
• 3–6 years of hands-on experience maintaining blow moulding machines in a plastic manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission systems, and industrial maintenance practices.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience working with Bekum, Jomar, Parker, Magic, Kautex, Uniloy, or similar blow moulding machines.
• Knowledge of plastic processing operations and production line equipment.
