Job Desciption
- Lays building materials such as brick, structure, tile and concrete cinder to construct or repair walls
- Measure distance from reference points and marks guideline on working surface to layout work.
- Spread soft bed of mortar that serves as base and binder for block using trowel.
- Applies mortar to end of block and position block mortar bed.
- Remove excess mortar from face of blocking using trowel.
- Determine vertical and horizontal alignment of courses using plumb, gauge line and level.
- Fasten brick to face of structure with the wires embedded in mortar between bricks.
Key Responsibilities
- Reading and working from plans and specifications.
- Break bricks to fit spaces too small for whole bricks
Educational Qualifications & Experience Required
- NABTEB, City &Guilds, Trade Test, OND
- 3 years of quality experience working in a formal environment, i.e. construction company or industrial environment
